The Archbishop of Southwark, John Wilson, and the Bishop of Arundel and Brighton, Richard Moth, have also already written to grant faculties to celebrate the Old Rite to churches in their dioceses.

The Bishop of Clifton, Declan Lang, was among the first to rescind permission to a community in his diocese, and sent a written instruction to a traditionalist church in Glastonbury asking them to cease celebrating Mass in the Old Rite.

Thank-you for your heart-felt plea for me to do alll can to safeguard the place of the 1962 Missal within the Diocese. I certainly believe that it has a place within the Sacramental treasury of our Diocese and will do what I can. I am grateful for your loyalty to the Church.

With permission from Bishop Marcus, following the publication of Pope Francis’ Apostolic Letter “Traditionis Custodes,” we will continue to celebrate the Mass according to the Extraordinary Form at 6pm on Wednesdays at St Winefride’s and at 6pm on First Fridays at St John’s.

I have declined requests for the faculty to use the 1962 Missal for private celebration; in all the above cases, at least some member of the faithful must be participating.

Bishop Toal of the Diocese of Motherwell has instructed that the 8am Traditional Latin Mass at St Mary's Cleland be discontinued from the 15th August. (...) The Mass at 7pm on Thursdays will continue.
